In this story there appear a snake, an eagle, and singing.
Jan: Once upon a time there lived a snake, who decided to eat an egg. The snake was small and the egg was big. Five times bigger than his small head. But the snake was very hungry – he opened his mouth and wanted to swallow the egg. It was too big, so he opened his mouth wider. And wider and wider. And so he was opening his mouth “wider and wider”, and even more, until it was clear that his mouth was super big – and devoured the egg. The snake gulped only twice – and the egg was inside him.
What is actually inside the egg?
Which passes through his hungry stomach?
And is becoming flatter - until it finally disappears?
And is not seen anymore
The snake spits out the shell
And looks satisfied
What is so good inside the egg?
What is most nourishing?
I think it is life
For such is the mystery of the world
That everyone in the world is hungry
That’s why you came here.
So, open your mouths, brothers snakes
Ladies and gentlemen: this is –
Alzbieta: Alzbieta
Jan: Alzbieta – I see in you a little girl
My heart is aching –
Ladies and gentlemen
Will you like the egg?
Alzbieta’s entire life –
That’s enough –
Alzbieta, you’ll take the egg with you
A wardrobe
In the wardrobe there is a box of chocolates
That wasn’t supposed to be touched
Alzbieta: How come you know about the chocolates?
Jan: Don’t get upset
Everything will be explained later
Tell them about the wardrobe with the top shelf
Where the box of chocolates was
Alzbieta: There is something about you
So I will tell you
Even though it is not interesting:
My daddy was transported to Auschwitz
I was very small then
I remember my brother and sister
They used to play all day
Killing Germans
And the Germans came, shouted
But one gentleman came to our house and asked:
What are you playing children?
And my sister told him: Killing
I hit her instantly to silence her
My sister started to cry
And the German started laughing
And then they took our father away
Mother was always waiting
Sending a package every month
Until once the package came back
With father’s watch and an engagement ring
It was proof that he was not alive
But somebody told my mother:
The Germans tend to do this sometimes
They send things back, but the person will come back
And my mother trusted that our father didn’t die
After the war she was still waiting
Even when the witnesses came
And said they saw how our father died
But mother said it means nothing
There was the wardrobe
On the top shelf there was a box of chocolates
Mother kept on repeating:
We’ll eat the chocolates when father comes back home
And it was still there
Are you interested in this?
It was a very long time ago
